Background

Cameron Summers is a trumpeter and machine learning engineer whose credits include a double Grammy-nominated recording with Patrick Williams, performing with Foo Fighters at the Grammy Awards, a Master of Music from Manhattan School of Music, and machine listening work used by Apple, Spotify, Google, and Amazon.

Organum Engine is named for organum, the medieval practice of adding voices to a chant; the system adds voices live to what it hears. The technology stays in the background, built to deepen improvisation and ensemble interaction, not replace them. Musicians explore a new musical language; audiences hear music rooted in tradition but not quite familiar.

The music travels light: Cameron can come solo or build the ensemble with local, faculty, or student musicians.
